Part 1: Student Emotional/Behavioral and Mental Health Needs. In a recent national survey of public school leaders, 87% agreed or strongly agreed that the pandemic has negatively impacted student socio-emotional development, and 84% agreed or strongly agreed that students’ behavioral development has been negatively affected by the pandemic.

We invite you to join Andreana Bellach, Peter Maher and Julie Jaquays for an engaging discussion of legal trends, developments and opportunities in the area of special education. This panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, October 12th at 8:30 am and will review recent legislative changes, OSEP and OCR policy guidance regarding students with disabilities and discipline, and case law focused on student emotional/behavioral and mental health. This session will also include practical suggestions for school leaders in addressing these matters.

This complimentary session will be a hybrid event, and you are welcome to attend in-person at our Hartford office or join us on Zoom. Registration is required for both in-person and Zoom attendance. This is a live event and will not be recorded, so register today
