We’ve swapped court rulings for fireworks and precedent for popsicles this week in honor of the 4th. Since we’re playing hooky, we won’t have a traditional Your ERISA Watch newsletter today summarizing the past week’s decisions. Instead, we wanted to send you a special Independence Day message to wish you all a happy and fun-filled start to your summer. It seems only fitting to celebrate the Fourth of July by taking a moment to recognize and celebrate our privileges as Americans – life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We have these unalienable rights thanks to the Declaration of Independence, completed on July 4, 1776, 247 years ago. In the spirit of the holiday, we hope you’ll take a moment to live life to its fullest, rejoice in your liberties, and pursue a bit of happiness. When you’re done doing all of that, Your ERISA Watch will be back in full fashion on July 12th.
