Sahan Journal reports, after discussion with the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management, that the “preliminary rules are expected to be published at the end of 2024, followed by a 30-day public comment period. Then, the office expects to adopt the rules in spring 2025.” This is a much-extended timeline than previously offered by the Office of Cannabis Management. License applications will not be available until sometime in 2025.

In the meantime, the Office of Cannabis Management is surveying on particular topics to inform their rulemaking. Available here, the current survey on packaging, labeling and integrated cannabis tracking, inventory and verification expires tomorrow, January 12. Additional surveys will become available as noted below:

  • Available Jan. 13-Jan. 26: Licensing; social equity considerations
  • Available Jan. 29-Feb. 11: Laboratory standards; edible products standards
  • Available Feb. 12-26: Medical cannabis and patient registry program
