A new post on the Covington Inside Global Tech blog discusses key 1Q24 deadlines under the Biden administration’s October 2023 Executive Order on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence.

Several agencies are expected to satisfy milestones related to the Executive Order’s key requirements in the coming months.  For example, the Secretary of Commerce is expected to issue rules requiring companies that develop certain large and sophisticated AI models to make periodic disclosures to the government.  The post provides substantive background and a sense of timing for that action and numerous others.

For more on the Executive Order, see our summary of its key provisions and comparison of its requirements with those of the EU’s AI Act.
