It is with heavy hearts that we report our friend and fellow attorney, Fred Schneider, has passed away. Prior to the formation of Dickinson Bradshaw, Fred had been with the Dickinson firm from 2011 until his retirement in 2018, practicing in the areas of business and corporate law, with a focus in the publishing industry.

Fred obtained a B.A. from Drake University in 1965 and his J.D. from Drake University Law School in 1967. Fred began his career as a law clerk for the Hon. Judge Roy Stephenson. He then joined Williams & Hart, and became a partner when the firm reorganized as Williams, Hart, Lavorato & Kirtley. In May, 1978, Fred became one of the founding partners of Smith, Schneider & Stiles. Ultimately the name was changed to Schneider, Stiles, Serangeli & Mountsier, and in 2011 the members of that firm, including Fred, joined the firm of Dickinson, Mackaman, Tyler & Hagen, where Fred worked until his retirement.

During his respected 50+ year legal career, Fred served several long-term clients and acted as a mentor to younger attorneys building their practices.

“Fred was an outstanding attorney and teacher. His kindness, patience and knowledge of the law was appreciated both by his clients and younger attorneys who he mentored over the years. He will be greatly missed.”  — Amy Plummer

“Fred was a brilliant attorney, and a great friend and mentor.”  — Ron Mountsier
