Texas Legislature to Consider Sweeping AI Legislation in 2025

In a new post on the Inside Global Tech blog, our colleagues discuss the recently released draft of the Texas Responsible AI Governance Act (“TRAIGA”), which is expected to be introduced in the 2025 legislative session.  Modeled on the Colorado AI Act (SB 205) and the EU AI Act, TRAIGA would establish lower thresholds for “high-risk AI,” create new requirements for AI “distributors,” and ban certain AI systems that pose “unacceptable risks.”
