Webinar | ICE Workplace Raids: Best Practices and Preparation for Employers

Along with my colleagues Anna Grizzle, Lisa Rivera and Elizabeth Warren, I provide guidance and best practices on effectively responding to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid.

With the recent Executive Order reversing immigration enforcement policy restrictions and the surge in related headlines, employers are navigating uncertainty regarding preparation for immigration compliance investigations or raids. It is essential for employers to understand their rights and obligations if ICE visits their workplace.

Our interdisciplinary team covers the following topics:

  • ICE Visit Response Plan: What safeguards should be in place and how should you train your employees?
  • Employers’ Rights & Obligations: What warrants are required for compliance and what rights do employers have to push back?
  • Employee Education: How should employers educate employees about their rights?
  • I-9 Compliance Best Practices: What records are employers required to provide?
  • Healthcare/HIPAA Considerations: What additional issues and HIPAA restrictions should be considered in the healthcare setting?

This webinar is designed for in-house legal counsel, compliance officers, human resources professionals, privacy officers, C-level executives, consultants and principals from all industries.

Tennessee CLE: This program is approved for one hour General Tennessee CLE credit. Please provide your BPR number upon registration in order for Bass, Berry & Sims to report your participation to the Tennessee CLE Commission.

Other State CLE: Bass, Berry & Sims does not seek direct accreditation from states outside of Tennessee for this program, but some states allow attorneys to earn credit through reciprocity or self-submission. Certificates of completion and other common supporting documents will be provided for use in jurisdictions outside of Tennessee.

Submit your questions for the presenters upon registration or email them to Claire Krummenacher.
