The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) published a final rule on August 18, 2025, increasing civil penalties for violations of various animal and wildlife protection statutes by 2.59%. Affected businesses range from importers and exporters of many types of plants and animals and their products, global and domestic e-commerce trade dealers and retailers to domestic companies involved in the construction, chemical, and energy fields.
