The Seoul Bankruptcy Court is moving from the Seoul Court Complex in Seocho-dong to a newer, more modern building, a move welcomed by most in the legal profession. The Seoul Bankruptcy Court will begin operations on October 26, 2026, at the CAMCO Yangjae Tower (262 Gangnam-daero), Dogok-dong, Seoul. It will temporarily relocate to a private building as the construction of the Second Courthouse in Seocho-dong, originally scheduled for completion in 2026, has been postponed to the end of 2031 due to soil contamination issues.

Seoul Bankruptcy Court

The Integrated Insolvency Support Center and a Smart Court will move to Annexes 3 & 4. At the Integrated Insolvency Support Center, petitioners can receive debt restructuring advice, legal counseling, and business recovery support services. Seven related institutions (Korea Legal Aid Corporation, Korea Credit Recovery Committee, Seoul Financial Welfare Counseling Center, Korea Small Business and Market Promotion Agency, KAMCO Corporate Restructuring Innovation Support Team, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and Korea SMEs & Startups) will provide civil complaint counseling and other services.

Voting terminals shall be installed at every seat in the smart courtroom. As a result, the system can tally and announce the proportion of debt amounts immediately at creditors’ meetings and other gatherings, simultaneously with voting. The information desk and general civil affairs office are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. Courtrooms are on the 1st, 4th, and 5th floors, and office spaces are on the 12th to 16th floors. You can get to the court from Exit 3 of Yangjae Station on Subway Line 3 or the Shinbundang Line, or get off at the Bangbang Intersection bus stop and walk a few blocks to the court.
