On 20 May 2026, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced that its Scale-up Unit was now open to solo regulated firms.

The Scale-up Unit provides a dedicated point of contact to tackle some of the challenges scaling firms face and previously a pilot cohort for dual-regulated firms was launched in early 2026.

To apply to the FCA solo-regulated cohort for the Scale-up Unit, a firm will need to fill in an online application form and confirm that it meets the eligibility criteria. Applications are open from 20 May to 22 June 2026. The FCA will send an email confirmation to a firm upon receiving its application.
