As another sign that the economy is improving, especially in Central Oregon, the City of Bend will see some exciting changes to its west side in the coming years.  According to the Bend Bulletin, there are eight development proposals slated for construction in the next few years, the largest of which is a Bend campus for Oregon State University.  There will also be additional park land development and a whitewater surf park.  Northwest Crossing, a neo-traditional planned unit development, will also be expanding to the west of its current location.
