iStock_000010845433_MediumIt has been one year since we launched our global and cross-border restructuring and insolvency blog, eSquire Global Crossings.  The blog has been a tremendous success and we have you, our loyal clients and friends, to thank.  In more than 160 blog entries to date, we have provided our observations and insights on significant restructuring and insolvency issues, cases and developments from the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and around the world.  To date, we have had over 15,000 visitors and over 26,000 page views.  Our authors hail from 18 Squire Patton Boggs offices around the world, from Berlin to Dubai, and from Moscow to California. The sun truly never sets on the Squire Patton Boggs world.

We have received creative and positive feedback from so many of you in the past year.  We appreciate your comments and suggestions as we work to continually improve and enhance our blog.  We are also grateful that a variety of organizations have reprinted and published our posts.  Our entries have appeared in The Commercial Litigation Journal, INSOL’s Eurofenix, the National Law Review, The Turnaround Management Association’s Journal of Corporate Renewal, Law360, Insolvency Restructuring International and the American Bankruptcy Institute website to name a few.  And, Harvard Business School distributed our Frankfurt colleague Andreas Fillman’s post — The European Union Reaches Agreement on New Insolvency Regulation — in its Creating Value Through Corporate Restructuring class of more than 200 MBA students during the winter-spring 2015 term.

Our blog posts have covered a wide variety of matters, including:

  • Changes in Russian insolvency law;
  • U.S. Supreme Court rulings defining the jurisdiction of the bankruptcy courts;
  • Insolvency reform in the United Arab Emirates;
  • Pension protection in UK insolvency proceedings and
  • Changes to pre-pack sale procedures in the UK.

We have also written about many matters in which Squire Patton Boggs attorneys have taken leading roles, including the Baha Mar cross-border dispute involving U.S. and Bahamian insolvency law and the Clutterbuck proceeding in the High Court in London, England.

We look forward to continuing to provide our readers with insights and observations from around the world.
