If your workload is always bogging you down, there is no better pick-me-up than a positive review from a client. That’s the best tonic in a workspace.

But that’s not all a positive review would do for you.

Positive reviews seem to follow the law of attraction and can act as a tonic for your practice as well. The more positive reviews you have, the more clients you are bound to attract…especially in a law practice.

Every time a potential client needs services for their case, the first thing they do is look you up online as part of the vetting process. Therefore your online presence (reviews mostly) can make or break you: build your credibility and convert potential clients into paying clients.

Every time a client walks into your law office, your hope is they’ve spent time looking your reputation up on Google, Facebook, Yelp, AVVO, your own site, and other online forums before deciding to finally ring your bell.

A recent online reputation management survey yielded some surprising results about the power of reviews. 86% respondents of the survey disclosed that they read online reviews as part of their vetting process.

Amongst these, 57% respondents said they won’t go for a firm or a lawyer with less than 4-star average review. For 24% of respondents, the average was 5-star to consider a lawyer or a law firm.

80% of the respondents said they trusted reviews just as much as a personal recommendation.

So reviews -positive or negative- can change the whole marketing game for you. But getting them is not as easy as it might seem.

Although most lawyers and law firms are always struggling to get these powerful yellow stars up on their profiles, sometimes even the happiest of your clients might not easily yield one. That’s more because it adds one more tedious task to their busy routines or because you didn’t make the process timely or easy enough for them.

But ironically, a dissatisfied client would be more than eager to leave a review.

This makes bagging in those yellow stars all the more trickier.
