Newest Blogs Joining the Network
Jaspan Schlesinger LLP, one of Long Island’s oldest and largest full-service law firms, has launched their first blog on the LexBlog platform with the New York Business Law** Blog. The blog’s editorial team is led by Jessica Baquet, Rachel Morgenstern, and Samantha Guido who between them have a wide skill set in commercial disputes, labor and employment, drafting decisions, abuse and neglect cases, and family law. Though the bloggers are just getting started, they have already written on the role of business records in divorce and when a motion for sanctions is improperly used as an intimidation device.
MediaWrites is the second blog to join LexBLog from Bird & Bird, spearheaded by the firm’s Media Group. The team recognizes that the media, entertainment, and sports industries are among the first to be disrupted by new technologies. The blog monitors the fast moving legal issues within media and sports by providing timely news updates and perspectives from around the world. Among the many “hot topics” they track extensively, are posts on fake news, influencer marketing, and online harms.
Colin S. Levy**, a leader in legal innovation and Corporate Counsel for Salary.com has an insatiable desire to explore legal technology, innovation, and our changing world–and he does not stop at simply writing, speaking, and tweeting about it. He has led training programs for his various teams and designed contract management systems to demonstrate that using technology can create more effective outcomes. We previously wrote about Levy when he joined LexBlog through syndication here. Levy has since migrated his blog to the LexBlog platform and we are proud to support his mission of making the legal profession better. His most recent post is a powerful call to action that we recommend all to read.
Ritvik Kulkarni, Associate at Khaitan & Co, is the author of the Indian Arbitration Blog, a forum for discussion and critique of India’s arbitration landscape. Since May 2018, the blog has welcomed ideas on arbitral reforms and critical analyses of recent judgements, bills, policy decisions, and more. Most recently, Kulkarni and guest bloggers have written thorough reports on India’s Model Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT), the “developing country paradox” outlining how BITs act as a double-edge sword for growing economies, and challenging arbitrability of fraud.
The Expatriation Tax Lawyers blog is the third blog from Golding & Golding to join LexBlog. The blog recently launched at the beginning of 2020, and has since covered three main, related topics: expatriation, exit tax, and covered expatriates. Expatriation is the process of relinquishing US status, covered expatriates are those subject to the exit tax–which is the tax on persons during the process of expatriation.
