It’s the basic skill you’ll need to develop your legal solutions. Here’s how.

Copy the link to the clipboard.

When you have a subscription to Automio, direct links will be available for the automated documents that you create. On the Automio dashboard, select the document, click on the Publishing tab and go to the Direct Link. Then either right click and select Copy or press Ctrl+C to copy the link to the clipboard.

If the automated documents are embedded to your practice’s website, you’ll need the copy the link for the specific webpage on your practice’s website that contains the document. Go to the page for the document that you’d like to share. Select the webpage address at the top of your browser and either right click and select Copy or press Ctrl+C to copy the link to the clipboard. We recommend that you create a list of the links to the documents that you use. Your IT support person can assist with this.

When we work with you on your project, we’ll show you how to share links to your automated documents.

Choose how to share a link.

Add a Link to a Word Document

From the menu, select Insert then Link. In some versions of Word, select Insert then Hyperlink.

In the Insert Hyperlink box, paste the link into the Address box. If you’d like to use text that isn’t a long web address (e.g. ‘Click here’), type in the text you’d like to use into the Text to Display box.

For something more impressive, insert a picture first. Then right click on the picture and select Link or Hyperlink. Paste the link into the Address box and any text you’d like to use into the Text to Display box.

The link should still work if you convert the Word document to a pdf file.

Add a Link to a Social Media Post

Create a new post then paste the link as you would paste any text. It should automatically create a useable link. The image that comes up automatically will be the preview image for the direct link or web page link. Your IT support person can assist with changing this image if you’d like, as it will be linked to your legal practice’s or business’ website.
