cityscape and technology and network connection conceptShould the first piece of legislation for the next US president be an infrastructure bill?

Is the Fourth Industrial Revolution going to alter infrastructure development as we know it and how?

What opportunities lay ahead for US infrastructure?

On October 13, 2020, P3 Bulletin published a thought piece entitled, “Analysis: FAST forward.” It began with:

At the start of October, President Trump signed the reauthorization of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, seen by many as a move that gives congress the breathing space it needs to start to think about new legislation.”

The analysis featured former Congressman Bill Shuster, past Chair of the US House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, who shepherd the original FAST Act into law, and Rodney E. Slater, former US Secretary of  Transportation under the Clinton Administration. Together, these two transportation and infrastructure thought leaders offered insights on the FAST Act’s one-year extension and how it presents an opportunity to move towards a more comprehensive, bipartisan, long-term bill that extends beyond surface transportation.
