Last week, the EEOC issued an updated resource document explaining how the Americans with Disabilities Act applies to job applicants and employees who have hearing conditions.

The document clarifies that discrimination may occur when an employer assumes without reason that workers with hearing conditions will have difficulty communicating, cause safety hazards, and/or increase employment costs.
