SCOTUS Extends Copyright Damages

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court issued an opinion holding that the U.S. Copyright Act does not have a time limit for monetary recovery. That means that copyright owner can obtain damages for any timely infringement claim, no matter when the infringement occurred, and that there is not a three-year cap on damages, which resolves a previous split among lower courts. A full summary of the case and the opinion from my colleagues is available here.
