Upcoming Speaking Engagements: Insights on Data Privacy, AI, and Cybersecurity

Our team members will be participating in several speaking engagements over the coming months, sharing perspectives on emerging trends, regulatory developments, and practical challenges across the global data privacy, AI, and cybersecurity landscape.

  • On Friday, May 1, Scott Warren, in his role as President of the Society for the Policing of Cyberspace, will moderate a panel at POLCYB’s Quarterly Conference in Vancouver, Canada. The panel will discuss legal developments and challenges in the use of AI and new technology in the detection, investigation and prosecution of cybercriminals. Attendees will include global law enforcement, prosecutors, government officials and industry working together to better protect individuals from cybercrime. If interested, please reach out to bessie-pang@polcyb.org.
  • On Thursday, May 28, Julia Jacobson and Faye Ricci of BECU, will present the webinar, “From AI Hype to Humdrum: What’s Happened and What’s Ahead for AI.” More information.
  • On Wednesday, May 13, Alan Friel is moderating the panel, “Privacy, Advertising, and the First Amendment,” at the Network Advertising Initiative Summit in Washington, DC. The panel will address the growing tension between consumer privacy protections and First Amendment rights in the context of digital advertising. More information.
  • On Friday, May 15, Scott Warren is speaking at the 2026 International Conference on Cybercrime and Digital Forensics held in Jeju, South Korea, co-hosted by the Korean National Police University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (Wuhan, China), Jeju Provincial Police Agency, Division of Coast Guard Studies KMOU and the Dept of Forensics of SungKyunKwan University. The theme of this conference is AI-Driven Cybercrime & the Future of Digital Justice. Scott’s topic for this conference is Cybersecurity Governance in the AI Era. This is a closed event.
  • Also on May 15, Alan Friel will present “Pixels on Trial: Defending Privacy Claims Over Tracking, Chatbots, and Session Replay” at the ITechLaw 2026 World Technology Law Conference in Chicago. More information.
  • Finally, on Wednesday, June 17, Kyle Dull is speaking at the Florida Bar Convention in Orlando, Florida, on the voluntary implementation of incident response plans for cybersecurity and privacy risk management. More information.
