Greenberg Traurig Immigration & Compliance Practice Co-Chair Kate Kalmykov will serve as a panelist on the webinar, Adjustment of Immigration Status: Heightened Discretionary Review Under PM-602-0199, on Wednesday, August 19, at 1:00 p.m. ET. This CLE program will examine the adjustment of status (AOS) implications of USCIS Policy Memorandum PM-602-0199, issued in May 2026, which introduces a revised approach to AOS adjudications by emphasizing that adjustment under INA §245 is a discretionary benefit and an extraordinary alternative to the traditional consular visa process. The panel will discuss how the memorandum reshapes the discretionary analysis, the favorable and adverse factors USCIS officers may now consider, and practical strategies for evaluating and preparing AOS cases under this heightened review framework.
