Join Us: Talk to the Experts – What Could the US Elections Mean for Europe? Bipartisan Views From a Pair of Former US Congressmen

During the final weeks of the US election campaigns, our colleagues former US Representatives Joe Crowley (D-NY) and Jack Kingston (R-GA) will provide their insights into what this year’s historic Presidential election and congressional races could mean for future US policy towards Europe and the impact on transatlantic trade and investment. Please join us to hear their perspectives on October 15, 2020 from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. ET (12:45 to 13:30 BST).

This year’s election will be taking place against a backdrop of seismic events in the US – the handling of the pandemic, the economic effects, the Black Lives Matter protests, as well as issues like China and global trade. The campaign has been intense and divisive, between two men well into their 70s, and the result could be close. What does it mean for businesses with economic interests in Europe? On the economy? On trade? On alliances? On support for a rules-based international system? On China and Russia? Join us for a lively discussion that will not predict the outcome, but will give a sense of the implications.

Tony Reed, our EMEA Chair for the global Corporate Practice, will introduce you to the speakers and Matthew Kirk, International Affairs Advisor in our global Public Policy Practice, will host the discussion.

Questions will be invited from the audience before and during this discussion.
