Choose Your Own Adventure: Hot Topics in Labor and Employment
Many developments have occurred in the past year, and in a “first of its kind” format, the audience will get to choose the topics and in what order they will be covered.

Potential topics could include:

  • Updates in Immigration laws and enforcement activities
  • Workplace violence
  • Termination safety precautions
  • Minimum wage developments and more

A New Approach to Connecticut’s Sexual Harassment Training Requirements
This session will focus on the state’s new sexual harassment training requirements. During this session, speakers will share how this new law provides opportunity for employers to create more effective training sessions and maintain a workplace free from harassment.

Paid FMLA: Does It Leave You Confused?
During this session, presenters will provide insight into the new paid FMLA Law and its requirements.

Topics will include:

  • Existing provisions of state and federal FMLA
  • The use of paid leave by employees while they are on FMLA
  • Employers choice when deciding if an employee can use leave

Continuing Legal Education (CLE):
This CLE program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York CLE Board for a maximum of 3.0 credit hour, of which 3.0 can be applied toward the Professional Practice requirement. This program is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys.

Neither the Connecticut Judicial Branch nor the Commission on Minimum Continuing Legal Education approves or accredits CLE providers or activities. It is the opinion of Shipman & Goodwin that this activity qualifies for three hours toward your annual CLE requirement in Connecticut, including zero-hour(s) of ethics/professionalism, but is subject to change based on actual instruction/attendance time.

HRCI and SHRM Certification:

This activity is pending recertification credit from the HR Certification Institute.

Shipman & Goodwin LLP is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This program is valid for 3.5 PDCs for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. For more information about certification or recertification, please visit www.shrmcertification.org.

We reserve the right to register only clients and prospective clients of the firm.
