Nov. 13-16 EVENT | ABA’s Labor and Employment Law Conference

Three GT shareholders will participate in panels at the American Bar Association’s 18th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference, held from Nov. 13-16 in New York City. The conference offers in-depth programs on developments across the full spectrum of labor and employment law topics.

Martine Tariot Wells will moderate a panel, “Litigating Wage and Hour Collective Actions, Part 1: Intake Through Discovery,” from 8-9:15 a.m. Nov. 14. The panel will work through a wage and hour collective action simulation from initial client intake through discovery. The program also will discuss strategic considerations, techniques, dealing with the press, and client and stakeholder management.

Kelly Dobbs Bunting will speak on a panel, “Limitations on Employee Speech in the Workplace: A Cross-Border Review,” from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Nov. 14. Panelists will discuss political and social expression at work and considerations for global and local policy approaches for regulating workplace speech.

Tiffany S. Fordyce will moderate a panel, “Is National Origin Discrimination on the Rise?” from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Nov. 16. The panel will discuss an increased potential for unlawful national origin discrimination, harassment, or retaliation and ways in which employers and employees can anticipate and prevent associated consequences of unlawful behavior.
